AIR

Air - Movement meets Stillness through Breath

Dolphyn Boschman, owner of Inphynite Phreedom Lifestyle Management for over 30 years

Our Spirit Quadrant is one of the most neglected quadrants in the four quadrants of life (Mental, Emotional, Spiritual, Physical) and yet it is the most important. This is the part of us that focuses on something bigger then ourselves, houses are values, strives for personal growth, connects us to Source/God/Higher Power. Using therapeutic techniques can help us achieve greater awareness of our present moment and calmly accept or change our feelings and thoughts for greater well-being.

SPIRITUALITY LIVES IN THE NOW. MINDFULNESS IS THE KEY.

MEDITATION: Meditation is a practice that uses techniques to quiet the mind with breath and focused exercises to promote a number of positive results. Some of these results can be: relaxation, increase the feeling of well-being, develop compassion, love, patience, forgiveness, detach us from the constant chatter of the conscious mind to allow the sub-conscious an opportunity to inspire, guide and tap into deeper truths.

Meditation has also shown to improve our body’s physiological responses such as lowering blood pressure, improve digestion and immunity, increasing feel good hormones like Serotonin and Dopamine and reducing stress hormones like Cortisol.

Dolphyn has been trained in a number of meditation or breath techniques and utilizes this training in her massage practice as well as offering courses in how to develop a daily practice for individuals. One of her favourite practices is Qi Gong.

QI GONG: Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and focused intention. The word Qi Gong (Chi Kung) is made up of two Chinese words. Qi is pronounced chee and is usually translated to mean the life force or vital-energy that flows through all things in the universe. Gong or Kung means skill derived from time and effort. Qi Gong is a practice to improve health, healing and vitality.

Qi Gong practices can be classified as martial, medical, or spiritual. All styles have three things in common: they all involve a posture, (whether moving or stationary), breathing techniques, and mental focus. The slow gentle movements of most Qigong forms can be easily adapted, even for the physically challenged and can be practiced by all age groups.

The gentle, rhythmic movements of Qi Gong reduce stress, build stamina, increase vitality, and enhance the immune system. It has also been found to improve cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic and digestive functions.

Qi Gong’s great appeal is that everyone can benefit, regardless of ability, age, belief system or life circumstances. It can help to maintain health, calm the mind and reconnect with Spirit.

JIKIDEN REIKI: Jikiden means “directly passed down” in Japanese. Jikiden Reiki is the original Japanese Reiki started in Japan, the birthplace of Reiki, and offers the only seminars presenting the teachings of Chujiro Hayashi, one of Mr. Mikao Usui’s original students. Nothing has been added or amended from its original teachings. Watch the video to learn more about Jikiden Reiki.

JIkiden Reiki is particularly effective for First Aid Treatment (stopping blood flow, concussions/trauma, swelling etc). It is also excellent for acute pain conditions (headache, stomach ache etc) and chronic pain (muscle and nerve pain, internal disorders etc) as well as mental/emotional disorders.
Jikiden Reiki is a very gentle, effective therapy for any age as well as pets. It was traditionally taught to family members so it could be used within the home. In modern day, Jikiden Reiki is a treatment that can be learned by anyone! Whether you are a practicing therapist or a lay person, you can learn Jikiden Reiki! Dolphyn is the only active Certified Shihan (Master Teacher) in Saskatchewan and one of less than a dozen in Canada.

GOKAI: The Gokai are the five principles/precepts at the very core of the Usui Reiki system. They are a guide to help people find their way to better physical health and peace of mind. Usui Sensei, the founder of Reiki, discovered in his practice that people would often return to him with similar issues after they had been healed. He recognized the important connection between our state of mind and our physical health. He came up with the Gokai to help people focus positively, creating a healthier mind-body connection.
